French President Emmanuel Macron spoke at Sorbonne University in Paris and expressed his concerns about the challenges Europe is currently facing. In his speech, he emphasized that Europe is being surrounded by various powers, both at its borders and within its own territory. The French President also highlighted the growing capabilities of certain regional powers that are not constrained by any inhibitions.
Macron pointed out that the current European economic model is no longer sustainable in the face of competition from the United States and China. He stressed that Europe’s values and culture are under threat, as the continent is engaged in a delicate battle of narratives, values, and imagination. This speech took place seven years after Macron’s initial address on Europe at the same university.
