In the basements of various locations throughout the country, remnants of a bygone era can be found in the form of old pinball machines. These vintage machines have inspired Winona Area Learning Center teacher Matthew Wagner to start a new club for his students called the Pinhawk Club. The main objective of this club is to restore broken pinball machines back to working order, with the intention of auctioning off their first fully-restored machine in order to raise funds for the club’s activities.
During an interview with MPR News host Cathy Wurzer, Wagner and high school junior Corey Duncan, a member of the Pinhawks club, discussed their passion for pinball machine restoration and how the club has impacted its members.
