Georgia softball scored an impressive 10-1 victory over Kennesaw State, with nine runs coming in the first two innings. After a recent game where they only had four runs and five hits, the Bulldogs nearly doubled those totals with 11 hits and 10 runs in this game. Madison Kearney started the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning, while Sydney Chambley and Sara Mosley also hit home runs in the game.
Despite a fielder error that allowed Kennesaw State to score in the first inning, the Bulldogs pitching staff performed well. Starter Shelby Walters earned the win after pitching for two innings, allowing three hits and striking out two batters. The Bulldogs used four pitchers in total, who only allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five batters.
The success of this game can be attributed to Georgia’s deep roster, with 15 different players seeing playing time compared to only eight players for Kennesaw State. This impressive display of talent will continue as Georgia returns home to face No. 20 Arkansas on Saturday, March 30th at noon for their upcoming SEC series.
