In 2024, Hyundai Motor Group once again shone at the World Car Awards. The Kia EV9 was awarded the prestigious title of World Car of the Year at the New York International Auto Show, and it also received the award for World Electric Vehicle. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N was named the 2024 World Performance Car, highlighting the group’s leadership in electric vehicles and the advanced technology of its Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).
Over the years, Hyundai Motor Group has demonstrated continued excellence at the World Car Awards. The IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 previously claimed triple titles in 2022 and 2023, respectively, in the categories of World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year. In 2023, the Kia EV6 GT was also recognized as the World Performance Car, while in 2020, the Kia Telluride was awarded overall World Car of the Year title and Kia Soul EV won in the World Urban Car category.
The Kia EV9 stood out this year at the awards for its innovative design and spacious seven-seat interior. Built on E-GMP architecture, it is Kia’s first model to feature fourth-generation battery technology. This enhances its performance capabilities further solidifying Hyundai Motor Group’s position as a leader in electric vehicles and showcasing their technological advancements with their EV-dedicated platform.
