Houston Car Restoration Business Owner Accused of Defrauding Customers of Over $100K

In Houston, authorities are searching for a man accused of swindling customers out of over $100,000 through his car restoration business. Jessie Guadalupe Montes, who runs American Vision Auto, is facing charges of theft aggregate and money laundering.

Court records indicate that Montes collected money from multiple customers for work that was never performed or for vehicles that he did not own. He allegedly misrepresented his ability to sell and provide classic vehicles, leading to losses totaling approximately $105,000 for the victims involved. Authorities suspect that there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.

This is not the first time Montes has been charged with similar crimes. He currently has a pending case in Lake Charles, LA for similar actions, and has a history of theft charges in Fayette, Austin, and Waller Counties.

KPRC 2 reporter Bryce Newberry is following this story and will have more information at 10 tonight. If you have had any dealings with Montes or American Vision Auto, you are encouraged to reach out to Bryce at Bnewberry@kprc.com.
