Lola Cars has partnered with Yamaha Motor Company to compete in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship from Season 11. The iconic motorsport brand, known for its numerous championship wins, will work with Yamaha to develop and supply a powertrain for the all-electric, single-seater race series starting in the 2024/25 season. This partnership will introduce an evolution of the current GEN3 race car.
The collaboration aims to drive technological advancements in the world of motorsport, leveraging the efficient 350 kW electric powertrain that serves as a foundation for future applications in top-tier international racing. Lola Cars has a history of success in chassis and aerodynamic design, and this project will focus on creating a unique electrified platform with software at its core.
