On Saturday, Montgomery County will host a free health fair, featuring approximately 15 vendors who will provide information on nutrition and wellness. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Montgomery County Activities Center in Grady on 147 Old School House Road.
James Williams, the Montgomery County parks and recreation director, highlighted the importance of bringing health resources directly to individuals living in rural areas through events like these. He emphasized that reaching out to those in these communities is crucial for improving their overall health and well-being.
The health fair aims to connect residents with valuable resources and educate them on topics such as stretching food dollars, making healthy food and drink choices, and staying active. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an exercise class during the event.
This is not the first time that Montgomery County has hosted a health fair, with a similar event taking place on April 13 at Elton N. Dean Sr. Park, drawing over 150 attendees. Williams expressed his hope that community members will come out to enjoy the fair, engage in activities, and gain important information to improve their overall health and well-being.
