The CEO of Coastal Family Health Center, Angel Greer, stated that the project was initiated to address the needs of over 500 Stone County residents who were traveling to other facilities on the coast for medical services. The distance and transportation barriers faced by residents prompted the decision to establish a new facility in Wiggins.

Greer announced that the clinic aims to see its first Wiggins patient by mid-September, whether they walk in or utilize the drive-through pharmacy services.
