J.K. Dobbins agrees to one-year deal with Chargers after leaving Ravens

The Los Angeles Chargers have officially signed running back JK Dobbins to a one-year contract, as announced by his agency LAA Sports. This move comes after Dobbins spent four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and is now headed to the West Coast to join his new team at SoFi Stadium. Notably, he will be reuniting with his former offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who will be serving the same role with the Chargers.

Despite facing setbacks last season due to injuries, Dobbins has shown his talent on the field with 1,347 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, 27 receptions for 177 yards receiving, and one touchdown through the air in his career. He only played in the first week before going down with an Achilles injury and missed the entire 2021 season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game.

The Chargers are looking to improve their rushing game, given their struggles in the previous season. They ranked 25th in yards rushing, had one of the lowest yards per carry averages, and lacked rushing touchdowns. Their offense as a whole faced challenges, prompting the need for more options to support quarterback Justin Herbert. With new head coach Jim Harbaugh leading the team, the Chargers are focused on making necessary changes and enhancements for the upcoming season.
