In recent years, compact crossover SUVs have become increasingly popular among American consumers. These vehicles make up around one in every five new vehicle sales in the first quarter of this year alone. Hyundai’s Tucson Hybrid is one of the most successful models in this segment, with the fourth generation launching in 2021 and almost 210,000 units sold in 2023.
As a journalist, I had the opportunity to test drive the Tucson Hybrid and was impressed by its stylish appearance and new technology. The model’s strong performance and impressive fuel efficiency were also noteworthy. However, there were some areas where the Tucson fell short. Specifically, I felt that the drivetrain and transmission could have been more refined.
Despite these minor flaws, I still think that the Tucson Hybrid is a solid choice for anyone looking for a reliable and stylish compact crossover SUV. With so much competition from Toyota and Honda, Hyundai has done an excellent job of standing out in this market segment.
