Jeison Rodriguez Hernandez, a 28-year-old Venezuelan man with the world’s biggest feet, recently received new shoes from a German specialist maker. Over the years, his feet have continued to grow, with his right foot measuring at 15.79 inches and his left at 15.5 inches in 2015.
In 2015, Rodriguez Hernandez earned the Guinness distinction for having the world’s largest feet when an adjudicator visited him in his hometown of Maracay, near Caracas. Due to a rare condition called acromegaly, his feet continue to grow uncontrollably. This condition results from the anterior pituitary gland producing excess growth hormone, requiring Rodriguez Hernandez to undergo regular check-ups and follow a specialized diet.
Despite not claiming the title of the tallest person in the world, which is held by Sultan Kösen at 8 feet 2 inches, Rodriguez Hernandez has gained popularity in his community. He recalls being bullied as a child due to his size but now embraces his uniqueness, with people often asking him for photos on the streets. Despite the challenges that come with his condition, Rodriguez Hernandez remains positive and grateful for the opportunities that have come his way.
Recently, Georg Wessels, a German shoemaker who specializes in creating custom shoes for individuals with unique foot sizes and shapes traveled to Venezuela to deliver size 70 shoes in Venezuelan measurements to Rodriguez Hernandez. The shoemaker has been creating custom shoes for him for some time now and continues to work closely with him to ensure that he receives the best possible footwear that can accommodate his growing feet while also being comfortable and stylish.
