Exciting news: Students to start painting mural for upcoming Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown!

The new Da Vinci Science Center in downtown Allentown will be a colorful addition to the city thanks to the talents of an artist from Bethlehem and hundreds of students. On Thursday morning, about 300 students will begin painting a mural that will be installed on the wall of the new science center.

Local artist and Bethlehem Area School District art teacher Carla Majczan was chosen to work with the students on this project. She had students at the Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers create art and designs based on her lesson plans for art and science. The children produced boxes full of art and ideas, which Carla then sorted through to create the final mural design. This design is directly based on the children’s drawings and designs.

The kids are excited to start painting on Thursday morning in the gym at the Judith Chase Early Learning Center on Chew Street. The mural will be installed at the new science center in late May or early June, just in time for its opening date on May 22.
