At the 2021 World Beer Cup, Minnesota’s Lupelin Brewing was awarded a silver medal for their Dortmunder beer. The competition, which features over 9,000 entries in 110 categories, is often referred to as the Olympics of beer. Winning a medal at the World Beer Cup is an esteemed accomplishment in the brewing industry.
Among the winners from Minnesota were Bent Paddle of Duluth and Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub of Minneapolis, who both took home gold medals. Excelsior received a silver medal for their fruit beer, while BeerClub of Mora and Pryes Brewing of Minneapolis won bronze medals. These accolades showcase the exceptional quality of craft beer produced in the state.
Jess Talley, Executive Director of the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, commented on the success of Minnesota breweries at the World Beer Cup. “These awards reinforce that some of the best beer in the world is being made by local brewers in communities across our state,” she said. The competition took place in Las Vegas this week and highlighted the talent and creativity of brewers from around the globe.
