Kendji Girac, a 27-year-old singer who won the French edition of ‘The Voice 2014’, recently suffered an accidental gunshot wound while handling a Colt 45 that he had purchased at a flea market. Despite the speculation, his family insists that the incident was not related to any gang activity.
According to reports, police received a call about the gunshot wound around 5:30 AM and Girac was already en route to Haut-Leveque hospital in Pessac when they arrived. An investigation has been launched, but no details have been released by the Mont-de-Marsan Prosecutor’s Office yet. The incident occurred at a nomadic camp in Biscarrosse where Girac was staying at the time.
Born into a family of Catalan gypsy heritage in Perigueux, Kendji Maille rose to fame unexpectedly when a video of him performing a cover of a hit song went viral on social media in 2013. He then won The Voice in 2014 and has since achieved significant success in the music industry with songs such as “Color Gitano” and “Andalouse” garnering millions of views on platforms like YouTube.
