Introducing Enspired Solutions’ new technology for meeting updated PFAS standards.

Enspired Solutions, a Lansing-based company owned and led by women, has introduced an innovative energy-efficient PFAS destruction technology known as the PFASigator. This technology has proven its ability to surpass new regulatory standards for PFAS destruction set by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). By meeting these standards, Enspired Solutions believes that thousands of premature deaths and tens of thousands of serious illnesses can be prevented.

The PFASigator utilizes ultraviolet light and a unique reagent mix to trigger a reaction that breaks down PFAS in water, converting it into non-toxic components without the need for off-site disposal. This patented technology mineralizes PFAS in the solution, creating safe end products that eliminate the requirement for disposal elsewhere. Through a process of reductive defluorination catalyzed by UV light, PFAS molecules are broken down into water, fluoride, and simple carbon compounds.

Enspired Solutions’ CEO, Denise Kay, expressed her excitement about the progress made in developing this efficient PFAS destruction technology and the company’s collaboration with water utilities to ensure the safety of drinking water. Recently, Enspired Solutions was chosen by the US Department of Defense to address PFAS contamination in water caused by firefighting foams. Their technology received recognition from the EPA and DoD for meeting their criteria for PFAS destruction and energy efficiency.

Unlike other prevalent methods of treating PFAS, such as capturing it using granular activated carbon, ion exchange, or reverse osmosis, the PFASigator ensures that PFAS is completely destroyed, significantly reducing the risk of re-release into the environment. Enspired Solutions’ technology plays a crucial role in permanently removing PFAS from the global water supply.
