EVS LiveCeption to Enhance Alkass Sports Production Coverage

Alkass, a renowned Qatari network recognized for its comprehensive coverage of international and domestic sporting events, has announced plans to enhance its production capabilities by adopting EVS’ LiveCeption Signature solution for premium live production and replays. The agreement between the two parties, unveiled at the NAB Show in Las Vegas, represents a significant milestone for Alkass. Under the agreement, they will be replacing all legacy XT3 servers with cutting-edge XT-VIA servers and incorporating IP-based LSM-VIA replay systems. The new solution will be rolled out across Alkass’ fleet of OB trucks in August.

The decision to transition from legacy XT3 servers to EVS XT-VIA servers, along with the integration of IP-based LSM-VIA replay systems, was announced by both companies at NAB 2024. This solution guarantees compatibility with all the latest formats and codecs, making Alkass future-proof and adaptable to their evolving requirements. Operators will have instant access to network content, enabling them to navigate through live content seamlessly and create captivating replays and highlights of every moment captured. Additionally, the solution provides the option to integrate XtraMotion, EVS’ AI-based super slow-motion service, enhancing storytelling capabilities with super slow-motion replays.

Issa bin Abdullah Al Hitmi, General Manager at Alkass, expressed excitement about integrating EVS’ XT-VIA servers into their OB trucks after experiencing firsthand the benefits of EVS’ XS-VIA servers in their studio operations. He emphasized expanding their partnership with EVS to take production operations to new heights. Serge Van Herck, CEO at EVS, lauded Alkass’ trust in EVS and expressed confidence that the LiveCeption Signature solution would deliver unparalleled capabilities for immersive live storytelling and audience engagement.

In conclusion, Alkass’ decision to adopt EVS’ LiveCeption Signature solution marks a significant step forward in their quest for enhanced production capabilities. With this new technology in place by August 2024, they are set to revolutionize their live production and replay processes while providing a seamless viewing experience for their audience.
