Tom Stoltman Secures 3rd Title by Victorious Win Against Mitchell Hooper

In the past four years, Tom Stoltman has been crowned the World’s Strongest Man for a third time. This massive Scot topped Canada’s Mitchell Hooper and the United States’ Evan Singleton to claim the title. Stoltman carried a three-point lead into Saturday and extended his advantage with solid performances in all three events. He finished third in the Conan’s Wheel (777 degrees, eight points), tied for second in the Terrain Deadlift (8.5 points reps), and first in the Atlas Stones (five stones in 38.14 seconds, 10 points). With this victory, Stoltman has now finished either first or second in the past five World’s Strongest Man competitions.

The overall standings showed that Stoltman had a commanding lead with 53 points, followed closely by Hooper with 47.5 points and Singleton with 36 points. However, things were much closer between these two competitors than it appeared on paper. For example, Hooper actually gained ground on Stoltman during the Conan’s Wheel, putting up an impressive performance of 821 degrees for nine points. On Sunday, Hooper also scored well on the Terrain Deadlift (eight reps) and Atlas Stones (four stones in 49.43 seconds, six points), but he lost ground on both events to finish behind Stoltman by just half a point at the end of competition day.

Despite not scoring as many points as they would have liked on Sunday, both Hooper and Singleton can take comfort in their solid performances throughout the competition week as well as their strong showings over the past few years at other major strength competitions like Arnold Strongman Classics. Overall, this year’s competition was a great demonstration of how close these three men are to being considered among the strongest men in the world today – each one showing incredible strength and skill across all events throughout competition week leading to an exciting final result where Tom Stoltman emerged victorious once again cementing his position as one of the top contenders for future titles.
