Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC) recently announced that their new chip manufacturing technology, known as “A16”, is set to enter production in the second half of 2026. This technology will enable the delivery of power to computing chips from the backside of the chip, which will help accelerate artificial intelligence chips. This advancement is an area where TSMC has been in competition with U.S. rival Intel.
Intel, a U.S.-based company, has been known for producing some of the world’s fastest chips. However, TSMC has recently overtaken them in this area with their latest technology, the “7nm”. TSMC is considered the world’s largest contract manufacturer of chips for companies like Nvidia and AMD. The company has been at the forefront of innovation and improvement in the semiconductor industry for several years now.
The ongoing competition between TSMC and Intel highlights the need for companies to stay at the forefront of technological advancements in order to remain competitive in today’s market. With rapid technological advancements, companies must continue to invest heavily in research and development to keep up with changing consumer demands and maintain their position as leaders in their respective fields.
