The Amarillo City Council recently approved three development agreements that aim to kickstart the construction of the Kids Inc sports complex in south Amarillo. This project is a collaborative effort between the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, Attebury Elevators and Rockrose Development, to enhance sports and recreational opportunities in the Amarillo community.
The partners involved in this project will be responsible for building a $3 million parking lot as part of the development agreements. The construction costs for infrastructure such as water, utilities, streets will be initially covered by the partners involved. As tax collections increase from development in a designated zone at the intersection of Loop 335 and I-27, the partners will be reimbursed over time for their contributions.
With the support of the partners and the city council’s approval, the construction of the Kids Inc sports complex is expected to move forward smoothly. This initiative represents a significant investment in Amarillo’s future, and it is expected to provide new opportunities for residents of all ages to enjoy sports and recreation activities.
